How do I choose a padel racket?

Padel rackets are highly engineered pieces of equipment using a range of advanced materials and techniques.  Hence some of the prices!

Essentially the trade off is between power and speed in advanced rackets and control in more entry level versions.  Intermediate rackets tend to adopt a balanced approach.

Some of factors that come into play are:

• Weight - lighter for control, heavier for power
• Shape - round for control, diamond for power or teardrop as a balance
• Balance - low for control, high for power or medium as a balance
• Firmness - soft for control, hard for power

For gear heads and experienced players, a simple Google search will produce vast amounts of research and advice.

For entry level players, our advice is to trust the process.  Buy an entry level or intermediate level racket from a top brand that has committed the resources required to make a great product.  Select a price point that you are comfortable with and a product that appeals.  And enjoy the adventure.
